Build the Case Carts your
SPD Workflow Needs

Case Carts are Not One-Size-Fits-All

Case carts aren't one-size-fits-all. CoulMed helps Sterile Processing teams configure the right cart for their workflow, space, and cleaning process — so equipment runs smoother, service is faster, and cross-contamination risk is easier to control.

CoulMed Case Carts

100% Customizable Case Carts

Need to match washer or disinfector space? Do you use an uncommon tray size? We can create a case cart as unique as your organization. We waive all customization fees on our case carts — meaning that you get the exact size you need, matching parts size, and the finish features to meet your needs.

#304 Stainless Steel

We take pride in choosing the best materials for our build quality. Our #304 Stainless Steel construction not only extends the life of your case cart but also makes it effortless to transport.

Casters

The stainless steel casters on our case carts are designed to survive the wear and-tear of your clinic. No longer worry that your case cart will outlast the casters. These casters stand at 6" tall and can be wheeled into the washer.

Wraparound Bumper

Our bumper doesn't just protect the corners of the case cart - our one-of-a-kind wraparound bumper protects your environment and case cart during everyday use.

Product Highlights

Designed for the real world of SPD transport + cleaning

1. Handles

Ergonomic handle design accommodates multiple grip positions for comfort during transport through halls, elevators, and tight spaces — helping reduce strain on staff.

6. Clean/Dirty Indicators

A visual tag or indicator system — including removable magnetized name cards for every tray — allows staff to quickly and clearly communicate whether cart contents have been sterilized or are awaiting processing.

2. Shelves

Shelves are designed to hold the weight and volume of full instrument trays and configured to your department and case load and tray height requirements.

7. Width

Custom width options are sized to match doorways, lifts, and pass-throughs specific to each facility and SPD environment.

3. Casters

Stainless steel casters designed for high-load handling and hallway, threshold, and elevator transitions even with full tray loads. A big upgrade if Casters roll smooth even when you load the cart to the max with the tray—and shelf—and pass through thresholds and elevator transitions, they don't get stuck. The casters go with washers too — not every cart with casters can.

8. Depth

Depth is configured to match your standard instrument tray dimensions, so no wasted space and no overhang risk.

4. Tray Glides

Our slide guides are designed specifically so that even large trays can be loaded and removed smoothly, preventing jamming, dropping, or instrument damage.

9. Height

Configurable height settings allow case carts to match staff ergonomics and washer input heights to minimize lifting risk.

5. Glass Doors

Optional glass or solid panel configurations so your team can see contents before opening.

Coulmed's Promise

The SPD Reality

Why customization helps…

When case carts don't match your facility, the pace shows up everywhere.

  • Carts don't fit washer/disinfectors/doors—or create interior space that could be carrying sets.
  • Shelving doesn't match your line of instrument trays and packaging, creating damage risk and slower setups.
  • Casters fight your hallways, elevators, ramps, or "over-the-road" transport between buildings.
  • Teams can't quickly confirm contents, or carts gets opened unnecessarily.
  • Clean vs. dirty status is obvious — right when it matters most.
Customize Your Case Carts

How the Customizing Process Works

Coulmed's custom processing sink design follows a structured methodology that ensures your final configuration matches operational requirements, physical constraints, and compliance objectives.

1

Workflow Review

Share your room dimensions, workflow direction, instrument volume, and current pain points with your sinks.

2

Configuration Recommendation

We recommend basin count, size, faucet spec, accessory package, and material options based on your workflow.

3

Compliance & Ergonomics

Review and approve your final configuration with full documentation before production begins.

4

Build + Install

Your sink is built to spec and delivered ready for installation in your decontamination room.

This collaborative approach involves your SPD leadership, technical staff, and facilities team at key decision points. We document current-state workflows, identify bottlenecks and ergonomic concerns, and propose configurations that address specific operational gaps. Throughout the process, design recommendations are validated against AAMI standards, OSHA guidelines, and manufacturer IFU requirements to ensure the final sink supports both safety and compliance documentation needs.
